The Lib-Dem victory in Sutton-in-Ashfield was a disappointing result, Ashfield's Labour MP Geoff Hoon says

But asked if he was disappointed at the result, the defeated Labour candidate Mike Parker claimed: "I don't care." His outburst followed a 44% swing from Labour to the Lib-Dems in the Sutton-in-Ashfield North seat formerley represented by the late Coun Dick Anthony.Lib Dem candidate Jason Zadrozny polled 1,979 votes to Labour's 435.

Safe New Labour seat lost.......... could be repeated here - doesn't bode well for marginals!
